About the Plan
The Gravois-Jefferson Historic Neighborhoods Plan gives residents a say in how our neighborhoods will look for years to come. Adopted in 2018, the plan was developed by Rise Community Development in partnership with Dutchtown South Community Corporation with support from members of the Board of Alderman and the City of St. Louis Planning department and funding from Lutheran Development Group, Incarnate Word Foundation, and Deaconess Foundation. It has been incorporated into the city’s overall plan as a tool to help drive investment in the neighborhoods of Benton Park West, Gravois Park, and northeast Dutchtown. Throughout the planning process, community input was gathered to produce a single community plan, covering the area bordered by Jefferson to the east, Gravois and Grand to the west, and Meramec to the south.
The plan guides the work of community organizations, city leaders, and residents as they strive to create vibrant and connected neighborhoods in southeast St. Louis City.
